Well friends, Christmas decorating is well underway! I finally got around to sprucing up the large hutch in our dining room this past weekend and I’m loving the cheerful vibe.
In this space, I wanted to use darker evergreens, wood tones and lots of stoneware! I tried to add bits of greenery sporadically on the shelves to make the hutch tie into the rest of the space (that I’ll be sharing soon!).
One of my favorite things I added to these shelves this year were these adorable white Santa mugs. Can you believe that they’re under $3!? I snagged three as soon as I saw them because of the vintage vibe.
The artificial pine picks that are shown on this hutch are from Magnolia Market online! I used these in our bedroom last year and I wanted to be sure to get great use out of them this year, too. For some reason, switching them to a different room makes me feel like they’re new all over again. Don’t be afraid to switch up your placement of seasonal decor year after year!
Lots of the pieces you see here were from prior years like these ceramic white houses from Target, “XMAS” sign, bottle brush trees and the mini wooden sled. Don’t be afraid to use decor from years’ past mixed in with the new pieces you buy!
Another little tip: Look for Christmas decor all year long (especially if you’re a vintage shop enthusiast!) I found this record in March and the vintage brass horn in August. I decided to pick them up for my Christmas decor this year even though I knew I wouldn’t be displaying them for quite some time. I stored them away until decorating this space and now they look great. Vintage decor can be hard to stumble upon so be sure to snag something you love while it’s in front of you!
I added quite a few of my stoneware collections to these shelves including a set of stoneware mugs, plates, butter dishes & a large bowl. I love mixing in these pieces because of their authentic vintage charm and character. Oh, and plates are the best for stacking and giving pieces different visual heights.
I hope you enjoyed seeing this hutch of ours decorating for Christmas! It’s been so much “winter-ifying” all of my spaces. Just switching out a few pieces really can change a space to reflect the season.
Thanks, as always, for stopping by the blog today! Have a great week.
