There’s nothing quite like hanging stockings up to get you into the Christmas spirit. This year we were able to hang our stockings in our bedroom on our antique mantel. Click here to see how it turned out! Up until this year I had to get a little creative on hanging them because we were without a mantel. I always loved finding unique ways to display our stockings around our apartment and wanted to share my ideas in case any of you are in the same boat as we were.
Architectural Spindles
I picked up a few of these matching porch spindles at a local antique store. Since they are solid wood and pretty heavy, I knew that they would be perfect to hang stockings on. I simply placed these on our tv cabinet and looped the stockings into the spindles. That was it! This was so easy and could be done on any type of cabinet etc. I found these spindles for $3 each so it made for a super reasonable stocking holder.
Hooks/Knobs
This DIY coat rack makes for a perfect little piece to hang stockings on. You can find cute antique hooks or knobs to add a one of a kind touch or check your local Target…they have tons of adorable options! How cute would little glass knobs be?! The knob/hooks can be mounted to a wooden piece (like shown) or even to your wall.
Ladder
This is one of my favorite ways to hang stockings! I love using antique ladders to display our stockings because by using the different ladder rungs, you can have the stockings shown vertically as opposed to horizontally. This adds height to a room and is perfect for small spaces! I used some green velvet ribbon to tie the stocking loop to the ladder rungs but you can get super creative with this part by using different colors, textures or ribbons.
I hope that this is helpful if you are looking for a way to hang your stockings without a mantel. We sure do love our antique mantel but I am thinking of keeping these ones displayed in our living room as well! I love the texture and comfy-cozy element that stockings bring to a room during the Christmas season. Thank you all so much for stopping by the blog today and for the constant support. I’m so thankful to have you here!
