It seems silly to start refreshing a laundry room when you have a whole house of spaces to finish. There is reason to my madness though, I promise! You can see the “before” of this space saved on my Instagram highlights. It wasn’t terrible, just nothing special. It had a wire rack above the washer and dryer, nothing on the walls and a whole lot of dysfunction.
Now don’t get me wrong, we have a LONG way to go in this room and we are far from being finished but a few little changes made quite the difference.
I started by replacing that wire rack with this reclaimed wood and corbel shelf that I painted using Devine Color in Twig. Honestly, this is one of my new favorite colors! It’s a grayish, greenish, brownish chameleon-color that I’m obsessed with 😍
This rug was a cozy addition to the space and made the color of the shelf pop. You can tell it’s really good quality and brings a fun element to the tiny room!
I was looking for a more practical way to store Oakley’s dog food, leash, treats, brush etc and picked up this basket from HomeGoods that has a lid! I loved the warm tone of this and how it added some texture to the laundry room.
Above Oakley’s basket we hung an antique medicine cabinet that I bought months ago at an antique store. I wasn’t really sure at the time where it was going to go but I loved the hardware, light pine, chippy paint, and the antique mirror. It looks adorable here and actually serves as a functional place to store laundry detergent and dryer sheets!
On top of the shelf, I placed a bunch of antique laundry pieces that I have been collecting! You can probably guess this is my favorite part of the room 😉 I added a clothes pin collection, antique lint brushes, a glass washboard, soap collection, a jar of buttons, spools and an old laundry press.
I had two antique laundry baskets that I placed beside our dryer to hide the ugly vent that’s along that wall. Our little secret…😆
All in all, a few little changes and the entire feel of our laundry room is different ✨ I’m so excited with the progress we’ve made. I must say, a couple additions can make doing laundry a little less of a chore! Thanks for checking in on the blog today. I’m so grateful for you!

Hi! Is your rug the more blue one from Target or the tan colored one? I love them both but I love the look of yours in that room!
