Finally! You guys have been asking for this blog post and I’m so excited to finally share a full review on our IKEA Ektorp sofa/loveseat.
I wanted to fully use these couches before doing a review since they are bigger investments. We bought our IKEA sofas about 2.5 years ago and they’ve been with us at our apartment and now at our new home.
We went with the Ektorp sofa and loveseat in the color “Lofallet beige” for a nice cool-neutral. I love the color since it goes so well with any pops of color we decide to do with throw pillows/blankets with the changing seasons. I love that IKEA has tons of color options so that you can easily purchase a new slipcover if you want to change the look of your sofa without purchasing a whole new couch. Ahh, the beauty of slipcovers.
The material itself is extremely durable. We have somehow made it through the move and Oakley’s puppy stage with not a single tear or rip. I can’t say enough how much that speaks to it’s quality! We haven’t noticed any signs of wear with the cushions, either. Incredible, I tell ya.
The number one reason we decided on this sofa was the fact that it was slipcovered and could be easily washed. It’s been no big deal to remove the cover, toss it in the wash with some bleach and put it back on in an hour. I weirdly feel like our couch is much cleaner than our old leather sofa since we can thoroughly clean the entire thing.
We purchased the sofa for $399 and the loveseat for $379. For a sofa/loveseat combo this is actually super reasonable! The prices will vary based on the color slipcover you choose or if you opt for another style such as the sectional or chaise sofa. We picked ours up at the IKEA in Pittsburgh and spent about an hour assembling them. Totally worth it in my opinion!
Overall, we are thrilled with these couches. Worth every single penny! They passed the test of a teething puppy so I have a feeling they would work well in homes with young children, too.

I have the same sofa lounge for the last 12 years, very small difference on the 3 seats instead of 2 large seats my sofa has. I am so attached to it. I wash the covers once every 3 months and switch to different color covers I bought on the same
day I purchased the sofa. Great quality. I am planning to buy this one also

I really love these sofas m have found second hand one but still worried about having a light colour … but I LOVE them lol 😆
They don’t have very high backs! I find them to be very comfortable but are not oversized by any means. More of a standard sofa size. They have held up really well!!
Hi,im in Yorkshire (so called the garden of )England. Just got 2, 2 seater Ektorp Sofas and i have 2 Yorkshire Terriers plus my friend has 2 dogs as well. Also children . But after 6 months they still look as good as new,still waiting for them to get grubby enough to wash. These covers are great,infact with my old expensive sofas i had to wash throws i kept on them at least once a week..(I kept them covered as wernt washable)which spoiled the look really..So if anyone is in doubt about these sofas…dont be..they are the best thing I have bought to date.

May I ask, what size throw pillows do you have on this couch? I would love to know, as we have the same couch and are looking at getting some 24×24 oversized throw pillows, and are hoping they wouldn’t be too big! Love your decor!
