Every once in awhile, I like to challenge myself when it comes to home decor. Sometimes I get into a little rut and need to push myself out of my comfort zone! You may think I’m crazy, but its really forces me to think outside of the box and get my creative juices flowing. Want to see how I did this Goodwill fall mantel decor? Keep reading…
At mid-October, I had yet to decorate our bedroom mantel for fall. If I’m being honest, I was a bit burnt out from fall decorating and didn’t want to go buy more decor just to fill the space. So I gave myself a $10 limit and took a trip to Goodwill. Who doesn’t love a good challenge every now and then?
I wanted to fully decorate our mantel using items that were sitting in my basement or purchased with the $10 at Goodwill. I must say, I’m pretty happy with the pieces that I found!
First up, were these orange/rust containers. They came with lids but I opted to remove them for this mantel decor and place some dried florals into them. These dried florals were from last year and I love how well they’ve held up! If you’re looking for dried florals that you can use year after year, you can check out this post for a full round-up. These containers were $2.99 and $1.99, each.
Strolling through the next aisle of Goodwill, I found this awesome set of candlesticks. Cute right?! They were $0.99 each (50% off of $1.99!) and make the cutest little statement on our mantle with some old candlesticks I had lying around.
On either side of the mantel, I used greenery that I’ve had from Hobby Lobby. I love how this faux greenery droops over the edge of each side and adds a deeper hue to the light colors!
To balance out the height of the taller canister with dried florals, I placed this old set of pine shutters and a floral print. These pine shutters are one of my favorites to use on vignettes like this.I stumbled into this print at Goodwill for only $1.49 (50% off of $2.99!) and immediately loved the colors! The oranges and yellows really reminded me of Fall. I knew it would make such a cute accent to this space in our bedroom.
I had a velvet cream pumpkin from last year’s fall decor that was sitting in storage and decided to add it in as well. Another pumpkin can never hurt…am I right!?
I hope this helps show you that seasonal decor doesn’t need to be elaborate or expensive to be beautiful! Sometimes a trip to Goodwill & your storage closet is all that it takes to transform a space. I spent around $9 total and I’m so happy that I decided to give myself this fun challenge!
Thank you, as always, for reading the blog today! I hope you liked reading about this Goodwill Fall mantel decor. I had lots of fun styling it and being put to the home decor test.
