I was determined. Determined to find dining room chairs that would compliment our new dining table perfectly. You see, we purchased our dining room table after our wedding last year because I had been all google-y eyed over it for months. We used some of our wedding gift money to purchase it because we wanted a statement piece that would fit plenty of family and friends for years to come.I was smitten over this dining table and it’s french flea market vibe. The raw wood table top and carved wooden legs sold me at first glance. The trouble with this table? Finding chairs to go with it. I found a few options on Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace but if you want me to be really honest here, I am not a huge fan of sitting in antique chairs. In our apartment we used 4 antique chairs at our dining table that were beautiful and solid oak. But goodness, after about 20 minutes in them…..our tushes were numb 😭 Also, it seems like antique furniture is so much daintier and I wanted something sturdy. We needed chairs that would last and this meant searching for something new. The hunt was on!I found a ton of cute options that would look so adorable but they were all upholstered chairs. I love myself a cute tufted chair but I don’t love the thought of ruining that chair with one spill of chocolate milk 😂 Any metal chairs that I found would have been way too harsh against this elegant table so I knew that wasn’t an option from the get-go. We are going for french country up in here 🙏🏼 I was in such a pickle guys! These are the things that keep me up at night…but seriously🤣
Then I found these beauties on my search a few months ago. I found them at Pier 1 and they are the “Grace Rain White Dining Chair”. I waited until Labor Day weekend when they were 30% off and free shipping so we scored a major deal on these! If you are making a big purchase like this for your home, wait for the sales. It will save you tons of money! 🙌🏼 I love the white slated back that gives off a farmhouse feel and the curved features that keeps it from looking too modern with the table. They are white wooden chairs that are timeless and will go with our decor no matter what we decide to switch up over the years.
So far we are loving these chairs and how they look with our table. They did take some time to assemble but this gave us a fun excuse to have a night in with a few glasses of wine. My kinda night! ❤️ Eventually I would like to get some cute seat cushions for these chairs to add a little layer of coziness and comfort. We have barely touched this room and have LOTS more to do but we are taking it one step at a time. This is a good start. Thank you all for being on this journey with us!
